TCM was born out of Dr. Anderson’s own experience as a primary care physician. Facing the challenges of early EHR implementation and other major shifts in the healthcare industry, his once successful practice was soon struggling to stay afloat. And Dr. Anderson found himself burned out and ready to quit the profession he once loved.
But by making some simple yet meaningful changes in his exam room process and elevating the role of his nurses, the Team Care Medicine Model emerged as the solution that saved his practice, renewed his joy of practicing medicine and restored his personal life.
Dr. Anderson is the author of The Familiar Physician and continues to advance the cause for clinical care reform through a new book, Lost and Found: A Consumer’s Guide to Healthcare, co-authored with Dr. Paul Grundy (IBM’s Director of Global Healthcare Transformation). Dr. Anderson is a regular speaker at healthcare conferences across the US.
