Team Care Assistants
We train clinical staff (MAs, LPNs and RNs) as Team Care Assistants (TCAs) — effective and essential members of provider-led teams. TCAs are mobilized to support the provider on a variety of levels so the provider is freed up to do the work only he or she can.
While the TCM Model and a scribing solution both involve an additional staff member in the exam room managing EHR data entry and enhancing the provider’s productivity, the similarities stop there. TCAs take a more meaningful role throughout the entire patient visit, assisting with responsibilities that extend far beyond that of a scribe. TCAs collect preliminary patient data, present information to the provider and help facilitate patient education and implementation of the treatment plan. They ensure charts are up to date, routine tests are scheduled and visits are managed efficiently so daily schedules remain on track.
The specialized training of Team Care Assistants enables clinical staff members to work at the full capacity of their education and experience the satisfaction of being part of a strong exam room team.
